How our faceplates are engineered
At Faceplate Forge we blend engineering discipline with a passion for great design. Every faceplate is produced on our in‑house CNC using carefully selected materials and processes to deliver a premium product that both looks beautiful and performs.
Engineering for performance
We design faceplates to minimize airflow restriction while preserving structural rigidity and aesthetic appeal. That means:
Strategic venting and porting — placed to keep airflow unobstructed.
Material selection — billet aluminum for thermal stability, and hardwoods for natural beauty and resonance control.
Precision tolerances — tight fits so your device feels solid and premium without rattles.
Surface finishes — anodize, bead blast, or hand‑rubbed finishes to balance look and thermal behaviour.
Design & fit
We prototype every design to ensure fit and usability. Our CNC workflow lets us rapidly iterate on pocket depths, mounting features, and fillets so the final part installs cleanly. We also run fit checks against reference hardware so you get a seamless install.
Materials & finishes
- Billet aluminum: durable, light, and receptive to finishing (anodize, bead blast, brushed).
- Woods: selected for stability and figure — finished with oils or clear coats to protect the material.
Customization
While we focus on our in‑house designs, we do offer custom work for customers who want unique artwork or specific material pairings. We guide customers through manufacturability to achieve designs that both look great and machine reliably.
